These Terms explain the conditions for using our website and purchasing or participating in our services.

2. Services Covered

These Terms apply, as relevant, to:

  • School tuition and educational support.
  • African language classes.
  • Professional training, workshops and career development.
  • Advisory, consultancy, research and survey services.
  • History, heritage and cultural learning experiences.
  • Retreats and facilitated reflection programmes.
  • Events and privately arranged programmes.
  • Publications, learning resources and digital materials.

Services may be delivered online or in person, individually or in groups.

Each service description or written proposal will specify what is included, who the service is suitable for, its delivery arrangements and its price.

3. Your agreement with us

Before you complete a paid booking, we will make these Terms and any relevant programme conditions available for you to review.

A booking becomes binding when we send written acceptance or a booking confirmation. An enquiry, application or automated acknowledgement alone does not confirm a place unless it expressly states otherwise.

Your agreement consists of these Terms, the service description and any additional conditions expressly agreed before booking. Specific written conditions take priority where they clearly address the same subject, subject always to applicable law.

Please provide accurate booking information and notify us promptly of any errors. We will provide written confirmation of your booking and its applicable conditions.

4. Eligibility and bookings for children

Adults may book services for themselves or, where authorised, for an organisation or another participant.

For a participant under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make or authorise the booking, accept the applicable conditions and provide the necessary contact and consent information.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that a child attends a programme appropriate to their age and follows reasonable participation requirements. They must remain contactable during sessions and provide any supervision specified before booking.

Children’s tuition is separate from adult retreats and reflection programmes. A child’s tuition booking does not provide access to adult programmes.

5. Prices and payment

The price, currency, applicable taxes, payment deadline and any deposit or instalment arrangements will be stated before you commit to a booking.

Payments must be made through the payment methods specified on our website, invoice or booking confirmation. These may include bank transfer, RTGS, EFT or M-Pesa.

Any additional charges payable to us will be disclosed before booking. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own charges or exchange rate.

If payment is overdue, we may suspend future delivery after giving reasonable written notice and an opportunity to resolve the matter. We will not impose undisclosed late-payment charges.

Recurring payments or automatic renewals apply only where expressly disclosed and accepted before purchase.

6. Tuition and language classes

Your booking confirmation will identify the relevant subject or language, level, session duration, timetable, delivery format and fees.

Tuition supports learning and development. We do not guarantee particular grades, examination results, admission outcomes or a specific level of fluency.

Learners are expected to attend punctually, participate respectfully and complete agreed preparation or practice.

For online classes, learners need a suitable device, a working internet connection and the software specified before booking.

We may substitute an appropriately qualified teacher where necessary. If this materially changes the agreed service, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you.

7. Attendance, missed sessions and rescheduling

The cancellation deadline, rescheduling arrangements and treatment of missed sessions will be provided before you book.

For individual tuition, these arrangements will explain how much notice is required to change a session and whether a replacement session or credit is available.

For group classes, an individual absence does not automatically entitle the learner to a private replacement session.

Any charge for a late cancellation or missed session must have been disclosed and agreed before booking, must comply with applicable law and must not override statutory cancellation rights.

If we cancel a session, you may choose an available replacement session or a refund for the session we did not deliver.

If a technical problem on our side prevents meaningful delivery, we will arrange a replacement or refund the affected portion. For a participant’s connection or equipment problem, the agreed programme policy will apply.

8. Training, consultancy and research

For organisational or commissioned work, a written proposal or agreement will set out the scope, deliverables, timetable, fees and each party’s responsibilities.

Changes to the agreed scope, deadlines or charges require written agreement.

Clients must provide information and access reasonably needed to complete the work. We will explain any resulting effect on delivery if essential information or approvals are delayed.

Confidentiality, ownership of commissioned work and any permitted publication of research findings will be addressed in the relevant written agreement.

9. Heritage experiences, journeys, retreats and events

The programme information will explain the location, dates, age requirements, activities, price, inclusions, exclusions and any relevant accessibility or participation requirements.

Transport, accommodation, meals, visas, insurance and other expenses are included only where expressly stated.

Please tell us about access needs or relevant participation requirements early enough for us to discuss suitable arrangements. Sensitive information should be shared through the contact method we specify.

Participants must follow reasonable safety instructions and respect other participants, staff, local communities, cultural sites and venues.

Reflective, spiritual and wellbeing activities are voluntary. Unless expressly described as a regulated clinical service, they are not medical treatment, psychotherapy or emergency support.

If a programme includes travel arrangements subject to additional legal protections, those protections and the relevant programme conditions apply.

10. Cancellations and refunds

Your booking information will state:

  • How to cancel.
  • Applicable cancellation deadlines.
  • Any deposit and the circumstances in which it may be retained.
  • Any cancellation charges.
  • Whether transfers, credits or substitutions are available.

We will not introduce cancellation charges after your booking has been accepted.

Any cancellation charge must comply with applicable law and reflect a lawful, reasonable basis, taking account of costs saved and any replacement booking where relevant.

If we cancel a service, we will offer a suitable alternative or refund payments for the service not provided. You do not have to accept a credit instead of a refund where you are entitled to repayment.

Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method, within the applicable legal deadline. We will explain any information reasonably needed to process the refund.

Nothing in these Terms removes your rights where a service is faulty, materially different from its description or not delivered as agreed.

11. Statutory withdrawal rights

Depending on your location, the service and how the agreement was made, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a booking.

Where such a right applies, we will provide the required information, withdrawal instructions and any applicable form before the contract is concluded.

If you ask us to begin a service during a statutory withdrawal period, we will obtain any express request or acknowledgement required by law. Accepting these Terms alone does not waive your withdrawal rights.

Any exception for a dated event, leisure service, accommodation booking or digital content applies only where the legal conditions for that exception are met.

12. Changes and events beyond our control

We may need to change a teacher, venue, platform or timetable. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.

If a change materially affects your booking, we will explain the available options, including cancellation and a refund for the affected services where appropriate or legally required.

If events beyond our reasonable control prevent delivery, we will notify you and discuss rescheduling or cancellation. We will not automatically retain payment for services we cannot provide; refunds will be handled according to applicable law and the agreed booking conditions.

13. Respectful participation and safeguarding

We expect participants, parents, staff and facilitators to treat one another respectfully.

Harassment, discrimination, threats, bullying, exploitation, deliberate disruption and sharing inappropriate or unlawful material are prohibited.

We may remove someone from a session or temporarily suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect participants or investigate a serious concern. Where appropriate, we will explain the concern and provide an opportunity to respond.

Any decision to end participation, and the treatment of unused fees, will be proportionate and subject to applicable law.

Safeguarding concerns may be reported to [insert safeguarding contact]. Where required or permitted by law, we may refer concerns to the appropriate authorities.

14. Recordings, photographs and privacy

Participants must not record, photograph or share sessions, private discussions or other participants’ information without the necessary permission.

If we propose recording a session, we will explain its purpose, access arrangements and retention period beforehand and establish the required legal basis.

Permission to use identifiable photographs, testimonials or recordings for marketing will be requested separately where required. Buying a service does not itself provide marketing consent.

Our Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, retain and protect personal information. It is available at [insert Privacy Notice link].

15. Learning materials and intellectual property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we or our licensors retain ownership of our website content, teaching materials, publications and programme resources.

You may use resources supplied to you for the personal learning or internal organisational purpose agreed at purchase.

You must not resell, publicly distribute or commercially reproduce those materials without permission, except where the law allows it.

Participants retain ownership of their original work. We may use submitted work only as reasonably necessary to deliver, assess or administer the service, unless a separate permission or agreement applies.

16. Website use and third-party services

You must not misuse our website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce harmful software, impersonate another person or infringe another person’s rights.

Keep account credentials secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.

Some services may use external platforms or providers. We will identify relevant providers and explain any separate terms affecting your booking.

External links are provided for convenience. Our responsibility for services we have contracted to provide is not removed merely because we use a third-party provider.

17. Our responsibilities and liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the agreed description.

You are responsible for providing accurate information, following reasonable instructions and using services and materials appropriately.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits such exclusion.

Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

18. Our Complaints

Please send complaints to [insert complaints email], including your name, booking reference and a description of the issue.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and provide a substantive response within fifteen working days. If more time is needed, we will explain why and provide an update.

This process does not prevent you from using a regulator, court or other dispute-resolution route available under applicable law.

19. Ending an ongoing service

Any minimum commitment, renewal arrangement and notice period will be disclosed before you book an ongoing service.

You may end the service under those agreed conditions or exercise any additional rights provided by law.

We may end a service for a serious breach of these Terms or persistent non-payment. Where appropriate, we will first give written notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.

We will explain the treatment of unused fees. Ending a service does not automatically entitle us to retain all advance payments.

20. Governing law and disputes

Subject to mandatory applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections that apply to you under the law of your country of habitual residence.

Nothing in these Terms requires you to bring proceedings exclusively in Kenya where applicable law gives you the right to use another court.

We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve a dispute fairly.

21. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future bookings. The current version and effective date will be published on our website.

The version accepted when you booked will continue to apply to that booking unless a change is required by law or otherwise validly agreed.
